Baltimore Science Fiction Society celebrates 50th anniversary with party on January 12th

A press release from Alexander Mathew Harris of the Baltimore Science Fiction Society:

On Saturday, January 12th at 8PM, the Baltimore Science Fiction Society (BSFS), located at 3310 East Baltimore Street, Baltimore, MD 21224, will have a free, public party to celebrate 50 years of promoting science, science fiction and fantasy throughout Maryland.

We’re happy that local, professional writers and artists, such as Dr. Catherine Asaro, Brenda Clough, L. Jagi Lamplighter, Alexis A. Gilliland, Dr. Yoji Kondo aka author Eric Kotani, and Hugo nominated SF artists Steve Stiles, among many others, will be joining us. BSFS invites all new and old fans of science fiction, fantasy, and related genres, no matter how far away or what organization they are involved with, to come and celebrate 50 years of existence with us.

David Michael Ettlin, a survivor from the founding meeting and former Baltimore Sun reporter, will make remarks on the initial years of BSFS.

The party is casual wear, and free and open to the public. Children with adult supervision are welcome.

The Baltimore Science Fiction Society is a 501(c)(3) literary organization focusing on science fiction, fantasy, and related genres.
