The winners of this year’s World Fantasy Awards were announced at a ceremony following the closing banquet at the just-concluded World Fantasy Convention in Toronto, Ontario. As previously announced, Alan Garner and George R.R. Martin were given Life Achievement Awards.
The judging panel that determined this year’s winners was comprised of: John Berlyne, James P. Blaylock, Stephen Gallagher, Mary Kay Kare, and Jacques Post.
The winners are:
Best Novel: Osama by Lavie Tidhar (PS Publishing)
Best Novella: A Small Price to Pay for Birdsong by K.J. Parker (Subterranean)
Best Short Story: “The Paper Menagerie” by Ken Liu (The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction)
Best Anthology: The Weird edited by Ann & Jeff VanderMeer (Corvus; Tor)
Best Collection: The Bible Repairman and Other Stories by Tim Powers (Tachyon/Subterranean)
Best Artist: John Coulthart
Special Award Professional: Eric Lane, for publishing in translation—Dedalus books
Special Award Non-Professional: Raymond Russell & Rosalie Parker, for Tartarus Press
