Top Box Office Grossers – Fourth Week in October 2012

Variety reports the top movies, in terms of box office take, for the week of 19-25 October 2012. New horror sequel Paranormal Activity 4 opened at the top of the charts, making $34.0 million. Argo held steady at #2, rescuing $21.9 million, for a two-week total of $48.4 million. Hotel Transylvania held steady at #4, chewing up $15.4 million, for a four-week total of $120.9 million. Thriller Alex Cross opened at #5. Sinister fell from #3 to #6, scaring up $11.5 million, for a two-week total of $34.4 million. Looper slipped from #8 to #9, returning $5.8 million, for a four-week total of $59.4 million. Frankenweenie fell from #7 to #10, reanimating $5.4 million, for a three-week total of $29.3 million.

Atlas Shrugged II: The Strike fell from #12 to #15, earning $850 thousand, for a two-week total of $3.1 million. The Master slipped from #15 to #16, clearing $750 thousand, for a six-week total of $15.0 million. House at the End of the Street fell from #14 to #17, killing $550 thousand, for a five-week total of $30.9 million.  Brave slipped from #17 to #18, making $550 thousand, for an eighteen-week total of $235.2 million. The Dark Knight Rises fell from #16 to #19, raising $500 thousand, for a fourteen-week total of $446.9 million. Ice Age: Continental Drift held slipped from #21 to #23, melting $250 thousand, for a fifteen-week total of $160.1 million.
