A press release from Steve Davidson of Amazing Stories:
Experimenter Publishing Company, publishers of Amazing Stories, is pleased to announce that the layout for the PDF version of the August 2012, Volume 0, Number 2 Relaunch Prelaunch issue is now available for the asking.
Anyone desiring a copy of this historic publication (and fine collectible) should send an email to publisher Steve Davidson at steve [dot] davidson33 [at] comcast [dot] net: Place “I Want Amazing Stories” in the subject line and put a note in the body of the email explaining why you think Amazing Stories is such a great magazine (for you). (And don’t stretch your brains too much – even “because it’s free!” is an acceptable message.)
The August issue features a retrospective on David A. Hardy, the King of space art, who has been publishing astronomical illustrations since 1952, as well as articles by authors John M. Whalen and Pierre V. Comtois, and an excerpt from David A. Hardy’s recently re-released novel Aurora.
The only e-book format the issue is currently available in is PDF. We are working very hard at figuring out a way to render the issues in MOBI and EPUB, but are experiencing difficulties with the presentation of illustrations in those formats: we want all versions of these issues to look essentially the same, regardless of format and will be sticking to that requirement (unless far too much time has elapsed).
Thank you to everyone for your kind words and your support, both financial, moral and egobooish! We’re making great strides, generating a LOT of positive feedback and, like you, can’t wait until we are properly funded and are able to return Amazing Stories to regular, professional publication.
On that note: keep an eye out for our late September/early October crowd-sourced fundraiser.
There’s much more to come!
