The winners of this year’s Sidewise Awards for Alternate History, were announced during a ceremony at the just-concluded WorldCon, Chicon 7. The winners are:

Long Form: Wake Up and Dream by Ian R. MacLeod (PS Publishing)

Short Form: “Paradise Is a Walled Garden” by Lisa Goldstein (Asimov’s Science Fiction, August 2011)

The Sidewise Awards were founded in 1995 “to recognize the best alternate history of the year.” This year’s judges included Stephen Baxter, Evelyn Leeper, Jim Rittenhouse, Stu Shiffman, Kurt Sidaway, and Steven H Silver.
