The Amazing Spider-Man, which opened at #2 in July 3rd, leapt to the top of the charts in its first full week in release, spinning up $90.9 million, for a one-plus week total of $165.9 million. Ted slipped from #1 to #2, bearing up $49.2 million, for a two-week total of $136.8 million. Brave climbed from #4 to #3, earning $30.5 million, for a three-week total of $184.9 million. Suspense flick Savages opened at #5. Madagascar 3 slipped from #6 to #7, making $11.8 million, for a five-week total of $200.2 million.
The Avengers slipped from #11 to #12, earning $3.3 million, for a ten-week total of $612.3 million. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter fell from #7 to #13, freeing $3.0 million, for a three-week total of $35.1 million. Prometheus fell from #9 to #14, thrilling up $2.8 million, for a five-week total of $123.3 million. Snow White and the Huntsman fell from #12 to #15, charming up $2.6 million, for a six-week total of $150.6 million. Men in Black 3 fell from #13 to #16, neuralizing $2.5 million, for a seven-week total of $173.9 million. The Hunger Games fell from #20 to #22, fighting up $500 thousand, for a sixteen-week total of $404.6 million.
