From the Rhine Center comes this bio of Andrews: Dr. Arlan Andrews, Sr., is a professional engineer and professional writer, the author of some 500 articles, stories, books and columns on the subject of science fiction, the paranormal, Forteana, futurism, technology, ancient civilizations, politics and humor. His first article on the paranormal, “Toward A Unified Parascience,” appeared in Fate Magazine in 1972, and he has continued covering related subjects ever since, in over a hundred publishing venues, including science fiction magazines, tabloids, the White House Science Office and popular publications. Arlan lived in Greensboro from 1968-1977, where he was President of the Psychic Forum and a representative for the Spiritual Frontiers Foundation. During that time he participated in a poltergeist investigation in Washington, D.C., with Dr. Bill Roll of the Psychical Research Foundation, interviewed psychic Jeanne Dixon and UFO abductee Betty Hill, met with the Israeli, Uri Geller, wrote an editorial urging Bell Labs to investigate psi phenomena, and published an article in the Journal of the American Society for Psychical Research, the first calling for the use of thermal infra-red cameras in poltergeist, haunting and PK work. While serving in the White House Science Office, Arlan founded SIGMA, the science fiction think tank, to provide the unique futurism that only science fiction writers can offer.
