The Hunger Games maintains its hold on the top spot for the fourth straight week, although the audience’s hunger may be slaking. This week, the film fought up $26.8 million, for a four-week total of $342.4 million. Comedy relaunch The Three Stooges opened at #2. Joss Whedon-written horror film The Cabin in the Woods opened at #3, earning $19.2 million. Wrath of the Titans slipped from #4 to #6, adventuring up $9.0 million, for a three-week total of $73.3 million. Mirror Mirror fell from #5 to #8, magicking up $8.6 million, for a three-week total of $51.1 million. Space-prison thriller Lockout opened at #9, locking up $8.0 million in its first week. The Lorax slipped from #7 to #10, greening up $3.8 million, for a seven-week total of $205.3 million.
Journey 2: The Mysterious Island slipped from #11 to #13, actioning up $900 thousand, for a ten-week total of $100.6 million. John Carter fell from #9 to #17, earning $450 thousand, for a six-week total of $68.9 million.
