Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows slipped from #2 to #3, deducing $18.2 million, for a four-week total of $161.6 million. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo held steady #4, seeking out $15.6 million, for a three-week total of $81.2 million. Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked fell from #3 to #6, singing up $10.9 million, for a four-week total of $113.0 million.The Adventures of Tintin slipped from #7 to #8, adventuring up $8.4 million, for a three-week total of $63.7 million.
The Darkest Hour fell from at #9 to #11, battling up $3.9 million, for a three-week total of $19.4 million. Hugo slipped from #12 to #13, clocking in $2.1 million, for a seven-week total of $53.1 million. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn held steady at #14, devouring $1.9 million, for an eight-week total of $278.9 million. The Muppets fell from #11 to #16, earning $1.6 million, for a seven-week total of $85.8 million. Puss In Boots slipped from #19 to #20, swashbuckling up $750 thousand, for an eleven-week total of $146.7 million.
