British author Colin Harvey dies

Locus is reporting the death of British SF writer Colin Harvey, of a stroke on 15 August 2011. Born in Cornwall on 11 November 1960, he worked on a kibbutz, in a night shelter, and for more than 20 years at Unilever.
His web site says his first published story was “Dreamstalker”, which appeared in Fragmented Infinity in May 2001, and that his first novel, Vengeance, appeared the same year. He moved to full-time freelance writing in 2007. His anthology Killers was nominated for the British Fantasy Award and the Black Quill Award.
Harvey published five more novels, including Lightning Days (2006), The Silk Palace (2007), Blind Faith (2008), Winter Song (2009), and Damage Time (2010). His short fiction was published in one collection, Displacement (2009). And he edited two other anthologies: Future Bristol (2009) and Dark Spires (2010).
He is survived by his wife Kate, whom he married 23 years ago.

    I’m deeply saddened to hear this. I’ll never forget his smile and laugh. I hope he has moved on to a place where his stories are all best sellers and he can travel and laugh with friends.
