“Ben Macallan” sold world rights to Pandaemonium to commissioning editor Jonathan Oliver at Solaris Books, in a deal handled by agent John Jarrold. The book, scheduled for publication in late 2012, is the first sequel to Desdaemona, which Solaris published in June.
Desdaemona was “Macallan’s terrifying, sexy, sinister urban fantasy debut, [in which] Jordan may look like a teenager but he treads the line between mundane reality and the supernatural in a world where vampires don’t glitter and runaways don’t just disappear—they’re hunted.”
Ben Macallan is a pseudonym of Chaz Brenchley, and, according to Solaris, “has also appeared as a character in his books, Dead of Light and Light Errant.”
Of the new deal, Oliver said, “It’s a delight to be working with Ben again. He had such a strong debut with Desdaemona and has proved that he is a fresh new voice in Urban Fantasy.”
