J.K. Rowling reveals her plans for Pottermore

In a video on the site, Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling has revealed a bit more about what Pottermore is going to be.
During a less-than-two-minute video, Rowling first thanks for “diverse and loyal readership,” and then introduces what Pottermore will be: an “online reading experience unlike any other.… [it will be] the same story with a few crucial additions, the most important one is you.” Just as “reading requires imagination, so Pottermore will be built in part by you, the reader.” She says the site is a place for the digital generation to “share, participate in, and rediscover the stories” in the series. Additionally, the web site will be the first place to buy ebook versions of the Potter books.
The site is scheduled to open in October, but “a lucky few can enter early and help shape the experience.” Information on that early entry is expected to be posted on the site on 31 July.
