The latest Marvel comic book superhero to hit the big screen, Thor, opened at the top of the charts, and pounded down $84.8 million. Jumping the Broom and Something Borrowed opened at #3 and #4, respectively. Rio slipped from #2 to #5, flying away with $10.3 million, for a four-week total of $117.0 million. Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil fell from #6 to #10, kidnapping $2.6 million, for a two-week total of $7.4 million.
Insidious slipped from #9 to #11, taking in $1.7 million, for a six-week total of $50.7 million. Source Code slipped from #10 to #12, arresting $1.7 million, for a six-week total of $51.4 million. Hanna slipped from #12 to #14, slaying $1.2 million, for a five-week total of $38.0 million. Scream 4 slipped from #13 to #15, scaring up $1.0 million, for a four-week total of $37.2 million. Limitless slipped from #16 to #19, earning $700 thousand, for an eight-week total of $77.2 million. Hop fell from #11 to #23, finding $600 thousand, for a six-week total of $106.5 million. Rango, which last week fell out of the top 25, this week climbed back to #25, rounding up $500 thousand, for a ten-week total of $120.5 million.
