The World Fantasy Convention has mailed out nominating ballots for this year’s World Fantasy Awards. Convention members (last year’s and this year’s) are eligible to nominate up to five items in each category. The two items receiving the most nominations will be placed on the final ballot, along with the three (or more) put there by the judges. Winners will be announced at the convention, in San Diego, California, from 27 to 30 October.
Nominating ballots must be postmarked by 31 May 2011 (or e-mailed by that date) to Rodger Turner, 70 Fourth Ave, Ottawa, Ontario K1S 2L2 Canada. Nominations are accepted in nine categories, including Life Achievement, Novel, Novella (10,000-40,000 words), Short Story (less than 10,000 words), Anthology, Collection, Artist, Special Award—Professional, and Special Award—Non-Professional. All nominated material must have been published in or have a 2010 cover date.
