Warner Bros studio outside of London, England, has announced that Spring 2012 is the opening date for the “Making of Harry Potter” studio tour (see this site). When the tour opens next year, it will be a “behind-the-scenes walking tour which immerses guests into the world of film-making. The tour will feature authentic sets, costumes and props from the Harry Potter film series and showcase the British artistry, technology and talent that went into producing these iconic movies. The Tour will be located 20 miles from Central London at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, where the Harry Potter movies were filmed.” WB also notes that, while the tour “will initially be dedicated to showcasing the world of the Harry Potter film series,” they expect “the tour will incorporate other Warner Bros. film productions made in the UK in the future.”
Tickets will go on sale later this year, but will not be available at the studio (all visits must be booked in advance). WB warns visitors that this is not a theme park (with rides and such), but “the attraction will give visitors the first ever chance to go behind the scenes of the actual sets of the Harry Potter film series. Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the intricate detail that goes into a working set, [and] see first hand what the camera doesn’t show.” They also go to lengths to differentiate this studio tour for the current traveling Harry Potter exhibition of costumes and props.
