Irene Radford sold a new trilogy in her Dragon Nimbus series to DAW Books, via agent Michael Kabongo of The OnyxHawke Agency. Radford first hinted of the deal last week on her blog when asking the name of a minor character of her fans.
With the sale, Radford offers this description of the new books: “King Darville and Queen Rossemikka need a male heir. Now. She’s beyond childbearing and their oldest daughter is only 12, so marrying her off is out of the question. So they import Darville’s illegitimate son with Brevelan. Only problem is that Glenndon (15) will not speak and uses magic to solve all of his problems in a country where magic is always suspect and the royal family is forbidden to access it at all.”
Kabongo notes that the books will return readers to a world where the last fresh novel was more than five years ago. In the meantime, her previous books are available in an omnibus volume, also from DAW.
