2011 Philip K. Dick Award Judges Named

Award administrators David G. Hartwell and Gordon Van Gelder have announced the five judges for the 2011 Philip K. Dick Award. The award is “for distinguished science fiction published in paperback original format in the US in 2011.”
Publishers who issue eligible titles during the calendar year 2011 are “encouraged to provide copies to each of the judges as the books are published during the year. (All works of science fiction published originally in the US as paperbacks during the year 2011 are eligible.) The nominees will be announced in January 2012.”
The judges are:

The Philip K. Dick Award is sponsored by the Philadelphia Science Fiction Society and the Northwest Science Fiction Society’s Norwescon. The 2009 winner was Bitter Angels by C. L. Anderson (Ballantine Books Spectra) with a Special Citation given to Cyberabad Days by Ian McDonald (Pyr). The 2010 awards will be announced at Norwescon 34 on 22 April.
