Variety reports the top movies, in terms of box office take, for the week of 4-10 February 2011. Thriller The Roommate and James Cameron’s new action flick Sanctum opened at the top of the charts. The Green Hornet showed some strength, holding onto the #5 spot, battling up $7.2 million, for a four-week total of $88.6 million. The Rite crashed from #1 to #6, scaring up $7.0 million, for a two-week total of $25.2 million. Black Swan slipped from #8 to #9, swooping up $4.4 million, for a ten-week total of $96.9 million.
Yogi Bear slipped from #10 to #12, snatching up $2.6 million, for an eight-week total of $95.7 million. Tangled slipped from #12 to #13, spinning up $2.2 million, for an eleven-week total of $192.4 million. Tron: Legacy fell from #11 to #15, earning $1.7 million, for an eight-week total of $169.1 million. The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader fell from #18 to #22, tallying up $625 thousand, for a nine-week total of $102.7 million. Gulliver’s Travels fell from #20 to #23, tying up $550 thousand, for a seven-week total of $41.7 million. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I slipped from #22 to #24, taking in $475 thousand, for a twelve-week total of $292.9 million. After falling out of the top 25 last week, Megamind returned to the #25 spot, raising $450 thousand, for a fourteen-week total of $147.5 million.
