Top Box Office Grossers: Second Week in January 2011

Variety reports the top movies, in terms of box office take, for the week of 7-13 January 2011. Almost no new films were released this week, so there was very little movement on the charts. True Grit and Little Fockers switched places at the top of the charts. Season of the Witch opened at #3, conjuring up $13.5 million. Tron: Legacy slipped from #3 to #4, earning $13.1 million, for a four-week total of $151.2 million. Black Swan climbed again, from #6 to #5 (two weeks in a row moving up), swooping up $11.8 million (about 15% less than last week), for a six-week total of $64.9 million. Yogi Bear fell from #4 to #9, snatching up $8.0 million, for a four-week total of $76.8 million. Tangled fell from #8 to #10, spinning up $6.4 million, for a seven-week total of $177.0 million.
The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader fell from #7 to #11, tallying up $5.8 million, for a five-week total of $95.7 million. Gulliver’s Travels fell from #9 to #12, tying up $5.7 million, for a three-week total of $35.5 million. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I slipped from #13 to #14, taking in $3.1 million, for an eight-week total of $288.4 million. Megamind fell from #14 to #20, making $350 thousand, for a ten-week total of $144.8 million.
