The Boston Science Fiction Film Festival is calling for film makers to submit their projects to its 36th installment of the venerable genre festival. Film makers can submit their projects through bsfff.openfilm.com. Winners will be selected for Best Feature and Best Short. Each winning entry will get “The Gort”, an exclusively designed sculpture plus the normal swag associated with the festival.
Submission fees are $35 for shorts, $50 for features. Exact details for submissions are available on the bostonsci-fi.com web site. This is a juried event.
The Festival will start 11 February at the Somerville Theatre (55 Davis Square, Somerville, Massachusetts). This year’s Festival will end on 21 February with it’s annual 24-hour film marathon, affectionately called “The ‘Thon.”
Assistant Curator Liz Pratt said “if you look at the top grossing films of all time, an overwhelming majority of them are science fiction or fantasy. Our festival is designed to showcase emerging talent to an appreciative and savvy audience.”
The call for submissions ends 30 January.
