Top Box Office Grossers: Fourth Week in November 2010

Variety reports the top movies, in terms of box office take, for the week of 19-25 November 2010. The newest Harry Potter film opened. Was there any other genre film news this week?
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I took in $170 million in its first week in the theatres, dwarfing… well, pretty much every other movie on the screens (that box office total exceeds the combined box office total of the other 107 films on Variety‘s list). Megamind slipped from #1 to #2, making $24.3 million, for a three-week total of $117.6 million. Disney’s newest animated entry, Tangled, which opened on the 24th, still managed to climb its way to #4, spinning up $20.0 million. Action flick The Next Three Days opened during the week at #6, and the Cher/Christina Aguilera showgirls-esque Burlesque opened during the week at #8. Skyline dropped from #4 to #9, swooping up $4.4 million, for a two-week total of $18.6 million.
Paranormal Activity 2 fell from #9 to #17 (I guess the season for horror movies is abruptly over), with activity of $1.2 million, for a five-week total of $83.9 million. Saw 3D fell from #8 to #18, chopping up $1.0 million, for a four-week total of $45.5 million. Hereafter fell from #13 to #23, earning $350 thousand, for a six-week total of $32.3 million. Despicable Me slipped from #21 to #24, grossing $350 thousand, for a twenty-week total of $249.2 million.
Falling out of the top 25 this week was Inception (last week’s #24) in its nineteenth week in release (box office total: $292.1 million).
