Publishers Weekly is reporting further fall-out from Dorchester Publishing‘s recent troubles and changes.
Angie Fox may be the first author to reclaim her rights in order to self-publish a previously announced Dorchester book. The Last of the Demon Slayers is now available in its Kindle edition, and will be available as a POD book at the end of December (on the date Dorchester had originally been scheduled to publish it).
PW writes that “Although Fox is no stranger to the big houses—she’s currently under contract to both Kensington and St. Martin’s Press—self-publishing seemed like the most logical option for her orphaned Dorchester title.” They quote her as saying “It was a decision I never thought I’d make—to take back a book that had already sold. But I just had to take charge and do what was best for my books and my readers.”
The current title is the fourth in the series.
