SFScope is going to be a little quieter than usual for the coming week. That’s because I’m headed off to the World Fantasy Convention in Columbus, Ohio.
I haven’t been to a WFC since 2007, when it was in upstate New York. From what I know, WFC is a special type of convention: limited membership, extreme focus, and a very high professional-to-fan ratio. If you’re in Columbus, and interested in meeting some of your favorite authors, this may be the place to do it.
I won’t be on programming, but I will be manning the Fantastic Books table in the dealers’ room, if you’re looking for me. And if you’re not in Columbus, keep an eye on SFScope on Sunday afternoon. If the technological issues work out, I’ll be posting the winners of the World Fantasy Awards as they’re announced (see this article for the complete list of nominees).
Following the convention, I’ll be in Ohio for a few days longer, and I don’t expect to be back in New York until Thursday of next week. I’ll try to get breaking news onto the site while I’m out of town, but SFScope will be moving slowly until I’m back home next week. Thanks for understanding, and have a great week!
