Jeff Carlson’s Plague Year nanobot has been designed

Author Jeff Carlson writes:
Fun news from Camp Carlson today.
A super fan in North Carolina recently took it upon himself to build the nanobot featured in Plague Year. His engineering schematics are well-considered, realistic, and ominous in appearance. Not content with this, at his own expense he also had polymer scale models produced by the Appalachian State University NC Center for Engineering Technologies. Then he mailed one to me for my book shelves! Yes!
Starting Monday, io9 and Penguin USA will post fun photo essays. I’m writing to rudely (gently) ask you might include a news slug in order to direct SF Scope readers toward these shiny sci fi gems.
Well, Jeff, here’s your pointer. Best wishes!
