Question: What do a witch and a vampire have in common?
Answer: Wednesday, September 1st, the SoHo Gallery for Digital Art in New York City, where two lovely and talented authors (Lucienne Diver [right] and Michele Lang [left]) shared the space for a fabulous evening launching both their books!
ReVamped (Flux) by agent/author, Lucienne Diver, a sequel to her popular Vamped, is the story of vampire fashionista, Gina Covello, who is now working for the Feds with her gang of fanged flunkies. Their first mission is to infiltrate the goth scene at a New York high school to get to the bottom of recent behavioral abnormalities affecting teens in the area. Find out more at luciennediver.com.
Lady Lazarus (Tor) by Michele Lang tells the story of Magda Lazarus, a witch with the power to summon souls and a sister who can foretell the future. Set on the eve of World War II in a magical Budapest, Magda must do battle with SS Werewolves, wizards, and demons, including the one that has possessed a willing Adolf Hitler. As the agent for Michele Lang’s Lady Lazarus, Lucienne Diver was thrilled to be sharing the spotlight.
The event was hosted by the new home for sf events in Greenwich Village, the SoHo Gallery for Digital Art, with the assistance of the SoHo Host Club [three members of which are pictured with the authors at the standing-room only party below]. The screens on the walls of the Gallery displayed the dramatic artwork of the book covers and also haunting black and white photographs from Budapest in the 1930s and 1940s. There were also a couple of photographs of Lang’s family members, who had lived in Budapest during that difficult time in world history.
Both authors greeted guests and signed books as we all celebrated together in this welcoming and friendly space. And in addition to the fantastic books, guests went home with goody bags brimming with vampiric and magical memorabilia appropriate to the books.
Congratulations, ladies!
