New anime con at New York City’s SoHo Gallery for Digital Art

The SoHo Gallery for Digital Art is once again expanding its horizons into the speculative fiction fields. This time, however, it’s not merely an evening. Instead, they’ve blocked out an entire weekend—30 July-1 August—for their first anime convention, AniMiniCon SoHo. Scheduled events will include:
* a musical gala
* a Victorian tea party
* a meet-and-greet cosplay reception
* panels and presentations
* screenings
* a dealers’ room
Already confirmed guests include Misako Rocks, Brian Mah, and Dane Robinson, along with “the first appearance of the SoHo Host Club, a group of young gentlemen fans of anime, manga and Japanese culture.”
Day passes and weekend passes ($12 and $30, respectively) are available on the web site. The SoHo Gallery for Digital Art (and the con) is located at 138 Sullivan Street, New York City, 10012. For more information, call 212-228-2810.
