In a week with several weak-opening new films, How to Train Your Dragon climbed back up from #2 to #1 on the charts, swooping up $18.6 million, for a five-week total of $181.6 million. Kick Ass fell from #1 to #4, kicking up $12.3 million. Clash of the Titans slipped from #5 to #6, taking in $11.4 million, for a four-week total of $148.1 million. Alice in Wonderland slipped from #8 to #10, conjuring up $2.9 million, for an eight-week total of $328.2 million.
Hot Tub Time Machine slipped from #9 to #11, bubbling up with $2.8 million, for a five-week total of $46.5 million. Avatar slipped from #13 to #15, grabbing $1.2 million, for a nineteen-week total of $746.7 million. Shutter Island fell from #17 to #22, taking in $400 thousand, for a ten-week total of $126.4 million. Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief, which last week fell out of the top 25, this week returned at #24, stealing $300 thousand, for an eleven-week total of $87.8 million.
