Lissanne Lake’s nature art show at Bergen PAC

Artist Lissanne Lake, who is well known for her sf covers and illustration, is having a non-genre show. “Focus on Nature” will be hanging in the Intermezzo Gallery at Bergen PAC (Performing Arts Center) from 1 June to 27 June. The gallery is at 30 North Van Brunt Street in Englewood, New Jersey, and is open weekdays from 10AM to 5PM (for more information, call 201-816-8160).
Lake tells us “This series of paintings focuses on and is inspired by the common wildlife and the many diverse uses to which parks are put to. Also, the paintings show the people of all cultures doing various activities a casual visitor or their child might spot at the park.
“These are all acrylic paintings on canvas, ranging in size from 8 by 10 inches to 48 by 80 inches.
“I hope the series will encourage people to use and enjoy the local parks and wildlife refuges for rest, education and renewal.”
Lissanne Lake has been a full time freelance illustrator for more than twenty years. She has done art for more than a hundred book covers. In 2001 she published the Buckland Romani Tarot. Currently she is doing solo shows of her Green World series, focusing on wildlife and nature. The current show is part of that series.
