SFWA and SGDA to simulcast this year’s Nebula Awards banquet in New York City

The Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA) and New York City’s SoHo Gallery for Digital Art (SGDA) are teaming up for the first-ever simulcast of this year’s Nebula Awards Ceremony. But than simply watching the events in Florida on a screen in New York, the evenings festivities will include also include a full-scale reception and dinner at the gallery.

Cost for the New York event, which will be on Saturday 15 May, is $65 for SFWA members and other sf professionals, and $75 for others (30% of the proceeds will be donated to the SFWA Emergency Medical Fund). The evening’s events will begin with a reception from 6 to 7PM. The simulcast is scheduled to begin between 7:00 and 7:30, as attendees in Florida and New York are being seated for dinner. From then, the New York banquet will run in concert with the Florida gathering until the ceremony has concluded. At least one of the Nebula Award nominees is expected to attend the New York function.
The SoHo Gallery for Digital Art, located at 138 Sullivan Street in Manhattan, New York, is fast becoming a center not only for art, but for New York’s speculative fiction community. The gallery is owned by John Ordover, who has spent more than 20 years in the field.
