Peripatetic author Lavie Tidhar writes with news of an on-line serialization and more personal stuff, though the two are connected.
Professionally, he tells us “my new novella, Jesus and the Eightfold Path (examining the possibility that the three wise men from the East in the New Testament were the three companions of the Buddha in the Chinese classic A Journey to the West—a kung fu retelling of the life of Jesus, perhaps!) will be serialized in Apex Magazine for the next two weeks, with new chapters posted daily.”
He also tells us, “Having recently moved to Israel and gotten married, ten wedding guests from England are currently stranded here with us due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland. While morale is high in what we now refer to as the refugee camp, financial considerations are plaguing everyone, and I thought a free serial novella (a format I’m a big fan of) could be a possible way of raising some much needed cash. Readers have the option of donating directly via PayPal, or purchasing a copy of Apex Books’ forthcoming anthology Dark Faith, profits of which will also go into the ‘refugee’ fund.”
A much more in-depth description of Lavie and Liz’s wedding in Cyprus, the after-party (and unexpected refugee camp) in their one-bedroom apartment in Jaffa, Israel, and the first chapter of Jesus and the Eightfold Path, are all available at this link.
