Actor Corey Haim was found dead 10 March 2010, of an assumed drug overdose (an autopsy is expected to be performed tomorrow). He was, however, suffering “flu-like symptoms” before his death, according to police. Born 23 December 1971 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, he starred in several teen films in the 1980s, and was often professionally linked with teen actor Corey Feldman (they co-starred in at least eight movies), to the point that the duo starred in a “reality tv” show in 2007-08, The Two Coreys. Haim was nominated for three Saturn Awards for Best Performance by a Younger Actor, for his roles in The Lost Boys (1987), Watchers (1988), and Prayer of the Rollerboys (1990).
Haim’s first film role was in 1984’s Firstborn, but it was in The Lost Boys, the modern-day vampire thriller, that he came to prominence. He is set to appear in the forthcoming The Dead Sea, Ratred 3D, and The Science of Cool. His other genre roles include: New Terminal Hotel (2009), Lost Boys: The Tribe (2008), Bloodsucking Cinema (2007), Universal Groove (2007), The Back Lot Murders (2002), Big Wolf on Campus (2000), Merlin (1998), PSI Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal (1998), Fever Lake (1996), Dream a Little Dream 2 (1995), and Silver Bullet (1985).
He was engaged several times, but never married. He is survived by his divorced parents, an older sister, and a younger half-brother.
