Agent Joshua Bilmes reports many foreign sales for Charlaine Harris:
Jo Fletcher at Orion/Gollancz bought rights to 19 books, including: a major six-figure buy for the eleventh, twelfth and thirteenth “Sookie Stackhouse” novels; UK rights to the entire “Aurora Teagarden” and “Lily Bard” series; rights to the anthologies Many Bloody Returns, Wolfsbane and Mistletoe, and Death’s Excellent Vacation (all co-edited with Toni L.P. Kelner. John Parker, of the Zeno Agency in the UK, handled the deal on behalf of Bilmes at JABberwocky.
Korean publisher Bada bought rights to the first two “Harper Connelly” novels, Grave Sight and Grave Surprise
Harris’ long-time French publisher, J’ai Lu, bought rights to the entire “Harper Connelly” series.
Indonesian publisher Lentera, also, bought rights to the whole “Harper Connelly” series, as well as the “Sookie Stackhouse” collection A Touch of Dead, and the first three “Lily Bard” novels.
J’ai Lu sub-licensed French-Canadian rights to the “Sookie Stackhouse” series to Quebecois publisher Flamarrion Ltee.
Italian publisher Fazi bought rights to A Touch of Dead (“Sookie Stackhouse” #10).
Swedish publisher Bonniers bought rights to the first five “Sookie Stackhouse” novels.
Russian publisher AST renewed its license for “Sookie Stackhouse” books 3 through 6, and also bought rights to Wolfsbane and Mistletoe.
Spanish publisher Santillana bought rights to Dead and Gone and A Touch of Dead (“Sookie Stackhouse” #9 and 10), and “will also be doing a special promotional edition of A Secret Rage.”
Chinese publisher Shanghai 99 bought rights to “Sookie Stackhouse” books 3 through 9.
Hungarian publisher Ulpius bought rights to Living Dead in Dallas (“Sookie Stackhouse” #2).
German publisher Feder & Schwert bought rights to the first three “Aurora Teagarden” novels.
