Peter Crowther writes to tell us of some interesting developments at PS Publishing. They’re running a deal on Ramsey Campbell for October, information on Joe Hill’s new book, and a new imprint for the company focusing on poetry. See below.
For the month of October, they’re offering a special deal on two Ramsey Campbell books and one anthology to which he contributed. The hardcovers of Campbell’s novel Creatures of the Pool and his collection Just Behind You were both published at £20. The anthology Spook City (£25), edited by Angus Mackenzie has several stories each by Campbell, Peter Atkins, and Clive Barker. PS is offering all three of the book this month for £50 plus postage (a 23% discount). Or, for the collectors, the trio are available in traycased editions for £157.50 (30% off). To take advantage of the offer, see this page.
From Joe Hill fans, PS will start accepting pre-orders for his Horns this Sunday, 11 October, at 6PM UK time. The book, with art by Vinny Chong, will be available in two forms. The slipcased edition will be signed by the author and have four interior color plates and a deleted chapter for ££65 (price is expected to rise to £75 at the end of the year). The traycased edition, will be signed by the author and the artist, have five interior plates, the deleted chapter, and “a little extra something from Joe,” for £175 (increasing to £200 at the end of the year).
Finally, PS is adding a poetry imprint, which they’ll be launching at March’s World Horror Convention in Brighton. Crowther says “The flagship book will be Jo Fletcher’s as-yet-untitled anthology, a baker’s dozen celebrating the dark side of the seaside. This will be supported by a triptych of volumes compiled and edited by Steve Jones and containing the complete Weird Tales poetry of H.P. Lovecraft, Robert E. Howard and Clark Ashton Smith: all of them priced at just £9.99 each.” More details will be forthcoming in the coming months.
