Agent Evan Goldfried open to submissions from potential clients

Evan Goldfried is the new agent at Jill Grinberg Literary Management, and he’s off to a good start, pulling in a six-figure deal for his first client, Kevin Hearne (see this article). Now he’s looking to expand his list. He writes:
I am a young agent at Jill Grinberg Literary Management, a boutique literary agency based in Manhattan. Though we are known primarily for our premier award winning and bestselling children’s and young adult list (Scott Westerfeld, Garth Nix, Catherine Gilbert Murdock, the Bemelmans Estate for the Madeline series), we also represent many adult fiction and nonfiction authors of all ilk, such as biographer, NYT bestseller and National Book Award finalist T.J. Stiles. I came over to JGLM after five years at William Morris Agency, where I was a coordinator selling both domestic and foreign rights after years of working with many of the agency’s clients.
I’m here at JGLM building my client list, and I’m looking primarily for fiction. I recently submitted my first project with JGLM, which sold at auction for six figures, so I’m off to a good start! My passion has always been fantasy (urban and epic) and speculative fiction for both adults and YA/middle grade. I particularly love a story that’s set in our time, but tweaks reality just slightly, be it time travel (Ken Grimwood, one of my favorites) or vampires. I’ve also become, thanks to Christina Dodd, Charlaine Harris, and JR Ward, a fan of paranormal romance. I’m also a fan of suspense/mysteries/spy thrillers. Some of my favorite recent titles have been The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, The Abhorsen Trilogy by Garth Nix, Eon by Alison Goodman, Lover Avenged by JR Ward, The Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks, and Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke.
I welcome any and all submissions including the first fifty pages of the manuscript by email to evan at grinbergliterary dot com with the word “query” in the subject line. If you have a manuscript that sounds like it would be great for me, please do feel free to send it along! I read everything and try to respond as quickly as possible, usually not longer than several weeks. I love to send comments, and I’m always happy to read new drafts and revisit submissions.
