Editor Jake Freivald writes to tell us that the September 2009 issue of Flash Fiction Online is now available. The zine has been around for a year and a half, and offers the content for free, either on the web, via RSS feed, or as an email subscription.
The September issue features:
* “Suddenly Speaking” by Ray Vukcevich (Frievald says “I wouldn’t call it science fiction exactly, but no doubt many of your readers would be interested in reading something new by him.”)
* “How High the Moon” by Patrick Lundrigan (science fiction)
* “Doofus” by Mark Patrick Morehead (a mainstream story)
* “Miranda’s Will” (a classic piece of flash fiction originally published in the British journal Punch on 28 January 1914)
* Bruce Holland Rogers’s latest column about writing the short-short story, entitled “Collaborating with MICE: Using Theory as a Creative Partner”, which focuses on how to apply theory
* a review of The Rose Metal Press Field Guide to Writing Flash Fiction
