Scott William Carter sells short story collection to Fantastic Books

Scott William Carter sold a collection, The Dinosaur Diaries and Other Tales Across Space and Time, to Douglas Cohen at Fantastic Books. The book features “stories of fantasy, science fiction, and dark mystery tales with fantastical elements that have been published in such venues as Asimov’s, Analog, Realms of Fantasy, Ellery Queen, Weird Tales, and others.”
As with Cohen’s first acquisition (Sarah Totton’s collection), this one is of an author he’s known in his role as an editor of Realms of Fantasy.
Carter recently sold his first novel, The Last Great Getaway of the Water Balloon Boys, which Simon and Schuster Children’s will publish next April. In addition to writing, Carter “has been a bookstore owner, ski instructor, and computer trainer, but truly realized he was going to make something of his life when he spent four long nights picking beets off a conveyer belt at a cannery.”
