Circlet reading for three new anthologies: perilous travel, shapeshifters, and time travel

Publisher Cecilia Tan writes that Circlet Press is now reading for three new anthologies, all with 15 October 2009 deadlines for submissions. As usual, all these anthologies are planned as electronic first, with potential paper publication later. Payment is $25 per story, with another $25 payment is the anthology goes to a print edition.
Like a Long Road Home will be an anthology of erotic stories of perilous travel. “Think of all the people you have the chance to encounter in travel and those who help you along the way. The more dangerous the paths you take, the more interesting the people you tend to meet. Whether the journey is over a mountain pass, to another planet, or into Shangri-La, undertaken alone or with others, do the perils come from without or from within? Use the sense of risk and adventure inherent in perilous journeys to sharpen the erotic bite of your story. Whether the travel is to get to a specific destination or to wander the world(s), sometimes the most memorable parts of the trip are the impromptu detours. What will your travelers discover? We are seeking short fiction submissions on erotic tales of perilous travel, with sf/fantasy/magical realist themes. Please share your most original and creative perilous travel fantasies.” Submission details for this anthology are on this page.
Like Tooth and Claw will be an anthology of erotic shapeshifter stories. “Circlet Press has done its fair share of erotic werewolf books (The Beast Within, Like an Animal, Alpha), but what about other kinds of shifters and weres? Laurell K. Hamilton features a sexy wereleopard in her books, and folklore is full of those who blur the line between animal and human. Tigers, dolphins, flighted creatures—how do the characters of the totem animals add to the erotic allure of each story, and what do they say about our own desires? All pairings and sexualities will be accepted.” Submission details for this anthology are on this page.
Like the Hand of Time will be an anthology of erotic time travel stories. “What would you do if you could travel through time? Would you stir up a romance in 1630, or 3014? Perhaps you would pay yourself a friendly visit in 2020. Maybe you would rendezvous with other time travelers. What would you do, and in what time would you do it? We are looking for short fiction submissions involving the themes of erotica and time travel. Be original, be creative, and share your sexiest time-travel fantasies.” Submission details for this anthology are on this page.
For all the anthology, submissions must be between 2,000 and 10,000 words, with 3,500-7,500 the preferred length. Circlet’s standard guidelines page, with full information on how they publish, is here.
Also, she reminds writers that Circlet is still reading for their erotic Alice in Wonderland book, Like the Knave of Hearts, which has a 1 December deadline (see this article).
