Author Chris Roberson announces that, starting next year, DC Comics’s Vertigo will be publishing I, Zombie, a new ongoing series he has co-created with artist Mike Allred.
I, Zombie is “the story of Gwendolyn ‘Gwen’ Dylan, zombie girl detective. Think graveyards, ghosts, vampires and werewolves with a twist.”
Roberson is the author of the four-book Celestial Empire series (including The Dragon’s Nine Sons [Solaris, 2008]), the five-book Bonaventure-Carmody Sequence (including Here, There & Everywhere [Pyr, 2005] and End of the Century [Pyr, 2009]), and tie-in books such as Shark Boy and Lava Girl Adventures, X-Men: The Return, and Warhammer 40000: Dawn of War II. He is also the publisher of MonkeyBrain Books, and has been a finalist for the World Fantasy Award four times: once for writing, once for editing, and twice for publishing.
Allred may be best known for his indie comic Madman, but he’s also worked on X-Force, X-Statix, The Atomics, Red Rocket Seven, and Vertigo’s The Geek. His work has also been featured in the films Mallrats, Chasing Amy, and The Faculty.
