The Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA) is going live with its newly redesigned web site this weekend. The current site (see image below) may seem a little dated, and it hasn’t been updated recently, while work was ongoing on the beta test of the new site. The new one will overlay the current www.sfwa.org domain starting Saturday 1 August 2009.
The new site places a greater emphasis on marketing the organization and its members, and seems to be leaving the news reporting to other sites (like us). That marketing takes the form of featuring member-authors and books, while the site itself is better laid out to make information about the organization easy to find.
Members will be receiving four e-mails over the weekend, including new log-in information for the site and the discussion fora.
