First purchases for Realms of Fantasy under new owner

Douglas Cohen, who now sports the titles of Art Director and Nonfiction Editor at the newly reborn Realms of Fantasy, writes to tell us of the first fiction purchases under the new ownership. He emphasizes “we’re not yet open to submissions (all these purchases were stories caught in limbo when the magazine was first shut down).” He also notes, for authors still waiting to hear about their submissions, that there are still more stories received before the magazine was closed which are awaiting Editor Shawna McCarthy’s reading and decision.
The newly purchased stories are:
“In Time of Great Despair and Darkness” by Ken Scholes
“The Hag Queen’s Curse” by M.K. Hobson
“Hanuman’s Bridge” by Euan Harvey
“Halloween: Comprising a Cautionary Acrostic of Nine Bedtime Stories for Reading to the Tiresome or Disobedient Child” by Euan Harvey
“Sultana Lena’s Gift” by Shweta Narayan
Harvey’s “Halloween…” story was submitted for the previously announced special Halloween issue, which apparently will not be happening right now, but the story will see print in a regular issue. Narayan’s is a first sale to the magazine.
