2009 Mythopoeic Award Winners

The Mythopoeic Society announced the winners of the 2009 Mythopoeic Awards on 19 July at Mythcon XL at UCLA in Los Angeles, California. A full description of the awards was published in this article, along with lists of all the nominees.
The winners are:
Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Adult Literature: Flesh and Spirit and Breath and Bone by Carol Berg (Roc)
Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Children’s Literature: Graceling by Kristin Cashore (Harcourt Children’s Books)
Mythopoeic Scholarship Award in Inklings Studies: The History of the Hobbit (Part One: Mr. Baggins; Part Two: Return to Bag-end) by John Rateliff (Houghton Mifflin, 2007)
Mythopoeic Scholarship Award in Myth and Fantasy Studies: Four British Fantasists: Place and Culture in the Children’s Fantasies of Penelope Lively, Alan Garner, Diana Wynne Jones, and Susan Cooper by Charles Butler (Children’s Literature Association & Scarecrow Press, 2006)
