Win a piece of the Moon from New Scientist

New Scientist magazine is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the first manned Moon landing by giving away a piece of the Moon. Specifically, their current Competition asks you to “think of something better… something even more memorable, or perhaps something funnier” for Neil Armstrong to say as he was first setting foot on the Moon. The prize is a piece of a lunar meteorite found in the Dhofar region of Southern Oman. “It’s not a too tiny piece, and the end cut is the favourite part of the collectors when they can afford it,” said discoverer Luc Labenne. “So you have the cut part, which is flat, and the opposite part, which is the natural exposed part of the lunar meteorite during the entry to our atmosphere.” The prize weighs about 1.4 grams.
Entries must be received by 11AM GMT on 29 June 2009, but only one entry is permitted per person.
