Robert J. Sawyer’s Flash Forward tv series green-lighted

Robert J. Sawyer writes that “The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, and TV Guide are all reporting that late today, ABC gave a series order for Flash Forward, the TV series based on my novel of the same name.
The Hollywood Reporter says it’s a 13-episode order, which is a big commitment (many shows only get six-episode initial orders).”
THR writes: “based on Robert J. Sawyer’s novel, the Joseph Fiennes-starring series chronicles the aftermath of a global event in which everyone in the world blacks out for 2 minutes, 17 seconds and has mysterious visions of six months into the future. David Goyer and Brannon Braga co-wrote the pilot for Flash, which Goyer directed.”
THR also notes that, in addition to Fiennes, the rest of the cast will include Sonya Walger, John Cho, Jack Davenport, Brian O’Byrne, Courtney B. Vance, Christine Woods, Zachary Knighton, and Peyton List.
Variety says the series “green light wasn’t a surprise; the Alphabet network has already been teasing the show via a series of viral marketing spots during Lost. That’s led most to assume that Flash Forward will bow in the fall to satisfy Lost fans as they wait for that show to return in January.”
