Last month, we announced that Cecilia Tan was reading for a vampire-themed erotic anthology. Now she writes that “since then Ravenous Romance [the publisher] has decided to let me do a gay vampire book and a lesbian one, too.” So she’s reading for three anthologies: one of heterosexual vampire-themed erotica, one of gay vampire-themed erotica, and one of lesbian vampire-themed erotica.
For all three books, she’s looking for 3,500-10,000 word stories in which “love or a romantic element is integral to the story.” She notes that she’s “very open to transgenderism, bisexuality, threesomes, etc.—let me figure out which book it goes in if you aren’t sure.” Deadline is 1 February. Payment is $10 per story as an advance against royalties (which will be a pro rata share of 38% on ebooks and 15% on audiobooks).
Tan writes that “I’d like to see the absolute allure of the danger in the vampire, and that means blood is OK, and killing is OK in the story, but not the main characters, please.” She also is rather explicit about “what I do not want: Any story of the following plot: Two people meet, they have, sex, one of them turns out to be a vampire! No! Don’t do it! Also don’t be tempted to change this plot to: they both turn out to be vampires! Nor, one of them turns out to be a vampire hunter or killer! No. Do Not. Also do not think that your story has to be set in a goth bar or in New Orleans.”
