Anticipation, the 67th World Science Fiction Convention, has announced the winner of this year’s Hugo Award Base Design Competition: Dave Howell. The announcement comes earlier than the expected January 2009 date.
Howell is a Seattle-based artist and fan who has been attending WorldCons since 2001. His art show exhibits include parking stickers and his “Working Wizard” art project. Howell will unveil his winning base design at the Hugo Awards Ceremony on 8 August 2009. As detailed in this article, entries in the competition had to have a theme appropriate to Canada and Quebec.
