The SFScope offices are closing a bit early today, as we’re heading on down the road to Philcon. Philcon is one of the major annual East Coast conventions, but one I haven’t been able to attend in several years. This year, I managed to modify the schedule in order to get back to the convention, so if you’re planning to be there, look me up. And if you’re not, well, why not? Conventions are a wonderful part of the sf/f/h experience; a place to meet people who share your interests and have come together to spend a weekend reveling in the strange and wonderous worlds that grab our attention and never let us go. There are panel discussions, solo presentations, an art show, a dealers’ room, a costume contest, filk singing, smaller parties, and hundreds of people who are more like you than you might imagine, friends you haven’t met yet. If you’re in the northeast, consider driving over to Cherry Hill, New Jersey, this weekend (Philcon moved across the river from its Philadelphia home in search of a more compatible hotel this year).
