Film Producer John Daly Dies

Film producer John Daly died 31 October 2008 of cancer. Born 16 July 1937 in London, England, he was the producer of 13 Oscar-winning movies, including Platoon and The Last Emperor.
In 1967, Daly and British actor David Hemmings formed Hemdale, which managed rock bands including Yes and Black Sabbath. The company later became an independent film producer and distributor. They were responsible for Tommy, among others. Hemdale produced more than 100 films which grossed more than $1.5 billion.
Daly’s genre film productions include: Drifter (2007), Killer Weekend (2007), Highway to Hell (1992), Vampire’s Kiss (1989), Miracle Mile (1988), The Return of the Living Dead (1985), The Terminator (1984), Turkey Shoot (1982), and Strange Behavior (1981).
Daly is survived by three sons (Michael, Julian, and Timothy) and one daughter (Jenny).
