The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences gave out their Primetime Emmy Awards during a 21 September ceremony at Los Angeles, California’s Nokia Theater, televised live. (They had previously given out the Creative Arts Emmys, see this article). The 60th annual installment of awards recognized work in 28 more categories.
The only genre winner in this cermony was Barry Sonnenfeld, who won the Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for the “Pie-Lette” episode of Pushing Daisies.
