Agent Joshua Bilmes reports that New York-based author Peter V. Brett “had a very successful UK launch of his debut fantasy novel The Painted Man. The Harper Voyager release made the top 15 sf/fantasy titles (top 5 hardcover) each of its first two weeks out, according to Nielsen Bookscan UK, and was also Nielsen Bookscan UK’s top 50 fiction hardcover list its first two weeks. Brett went to the UK for his launch week and had a full schedule of signings and media events, and was able to hop the Eurostar to meet for a day with French publisher Bragelonne.”
Bilmes also sold Brett’s first three books to Minotauro in Spain.
