Oz Fontecchio writes “This Friday’s Philadelphia Fantastic Author Reading by Gregory Frost, scheduled for Friday 26 September 2008 at 7:30PM at Robin’s Bookstore, has been rescheduled to be part of the October Philadelphia Fantastic event. Accordingly, the October Philadelphia Fantastic event with feature both Frost and the previously scheduled Judith Moffett.”
The reason for this change is that Frost “feels strongly that we should all stay at home Friday night to watch the first debate between Presidential contenders Barack Obama and John McCain. Greg tells me that he believes that the future of our country is more important that any author reading.”
The regular monthly event will return on 24 October at Robin’s Bookstore, 108 S 13th Street, Philadelpahia, Pennsylvania (in Center City) with a live simulcast at the store’s web site. After the event, again as traditional, those in corpus will adjourn to a local restaurant for a pay-as-you-go dinner with the guests.
I, for one, applaud Gregory Frost on his decision. Not only was it a selfless, conscious choice, it helped me out of a mess. I was having a great debate with myself since I wanted to go to Philadelphia Fantastic but also wanted to hear the debates. Many thanks for settling the chaos in my mind. PLUS I see you’ll be at Borders Books in Warrington, PA on Saturday so I’ll swing by there to pick up my copy of Lord Tophet…and also put Oct. 24th on my calendar.
